Nationally, Labour will end the Tory housing crisis if elected. Locally, we’re getting on with the job now.

In our housing survey, you told us of intense pressures renters and leaseholders face with rising rents, mortgages, and fees. 2 in 3 renters said their rent was unaffordable while leaseholders said monthly costs rose £792 on average after Liz Truss’ disastrous budget, and cladding work is taking too long.

Manchester Labour are building 10,000 new affordable homes in the next 10 years, with 3,000 in our city centre to slow rent rises.

We’re supporting residents with fire safety issues and delayed remediation, campaigning for a stronger government response.

Nationally, Labour have learnt from Manchester turning our economy around. Labour will build 1.5 million homes, saving the home-ownership dream with the biggest boost to affordable house building in generations.

Labour will abolish the broken leasehold system, giving people power over their homes, and ending unjust fees.

”Rising housing costs and cladding inaction demand urgent action from government. Locally and nationally, a brighter future for housing means safe, affordable homes we can all enjoy.” Jon-Connor Lyons, Piccadilly Councillor
