Throughout the pandemic, Manchester Labour are ensuring support is available for all rough sleepers. Last year, under the Everyone In scheme, we secured over 370 new beds. Now, around 1,000 people are being housed in Bed Every Night and emergency accommodation.
Despite Government cutting funding for this in 2020, your Labour Council provided the funding to extend it into 2021. Manchester Labour is providing a net increase of £5.9 million for homelessness services.
Our Manchester Rough Sleepers Strategy aims to reduce rough sleeping, help people through temporary accommodation into homes, and improve prevention.
We have asked the Government to share their strategy to end rough sleeping by 2024, but we have not yet received a response.
