Your local Labour Councillors are campaigning for more affordable homes

We see the impact of a national housing crisis right here in our city and are determined to work with the new Labour Government to fix that. Since coming to power in July, the Labour Government have already put record cash into building social housing, announced their plan to ban no fault evictions and have set out their commitment to tackle homelessness, including here in Manchester.

Manchester Labour has an ambitious plan to build at least 10,000 genuinely affordable homes, including council and social rent homes. We are on track to deliver, building over 600 last year, on site with 1,800 and the green light on another 2,500 – genuinely affordable, low carbon homes in every corner of our city.

Manchester Council Leader, Bev Craig said: “In Manchester, we’re determined to tackle the housing crisis, to make sure every Manchester resident has an affordable, secure and decent home. Manchester Labour is delivering now – last year, and already this year, we are breaking the record over the last decade for the number of council and social homes that we are building.”
