Building a brighter future together means keeping our promises. Alongside Joan and Anthony, Marcus delivers on what matters to you, keeping his promises from the last election:

Promise: Support to end our cladding and fire safety scandal
We’ve supported residents facing remediation work, written to ministers, campaigned to protect leaseholders from costs, and supported Manchester Cladiators.

Promise: More green space and improving existing ones
We’ve created new green spaces like Mayfield’s 6.5 acre park, New Jackson’s play area, and the Castlefield Viaduct. We’ve invested £4 million in existing spaces and backed community projects like Castlefield’s Roman Gardens and China Town’s Moon Garden.

Promise: A strong, fair economic recovery post-Covid
We’ve supported our economy, creating and protecting jobs by attracting investment, improving transport, and supporting local businesses. Marcus now chairs the Council’s economy committee.

Promise: Action to tackle the climate emergency
We’re ensuring the Council halves emissions by 2025 and meets net zero by 2038. We co-created our climate plan with residents and support action to clean our air, improving walking, cycling, and public transport.

Promise: Investment in services
We’ve opened a new GP surgery at New Jackson and will open our new school in September. We’re supporting better access to NHS dentistry and sexual health services.

And, we’ve done so much more from working with community groups, to helping residents solve local issues, and providing unprecedented support during the Tory cost-of-living crisis.

If you re-elect Marcus and Andy on Thurs 2nd May, we’ll keep our promise for a brighter future too.
