This Tory Government made new laws that mean you must show photo ID to vote in a polling station. This risks many losing out on their votes, especially the young and the poorest people who do not always have ID. Make sure you know the rules and what to do if you do not have photo ID.

You can use IDs including passports, driving licenses, an Older or Disabled Person’s Bus Pass. However, young people’s transport passes are not accepted.

The full list of valid forms of ID can be found by clicking here.

If you don’t have a valid form of photo ID, you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate through the link above or the QR code.
Don’t want to faff around with Photo ID? Register for a postal vote! Click here, fill out, and email the form to esu@manchester.gov.uk before 5pm on Tuesday 18th April.

Voting by post is quick, easy and saves you a trip out to the polling station in May.
