Manchester Labour is building social homes in the city centre, to tackle the national Tory housing crisis and provide affordable homes for Manchester people.

The Council has purchased a city centre site and finalised a design for these 100 new homes. The council’s own housing delivery company, This City, will start construction later this year.
All of these homes will be built to higher than national standards as a flagship project for Manchester. 20% will be let to families on Manchester’s social housing waiting list at opening, a number which will increase as more become available.

Cllr Sam Wheeler who led on the project said: “The Council will deliver this building, to the highest standards, and provide homes for Manchester families. I believe our city centre is for everyone, and this scheme makes that a reality.”
