Listening to local residents like you, we know many find walking and cycling around our city centre too hard. It’s congested, junctions feel unsafe, and routes are not joined up. We are tackling this head on.

Manchester Labour has developed a plan to deliver a real network for walking, cycling, and wheeling.

We want it to be easier for everyone to get around. So, we are improving public transport and active travel here and across the city. This has already delivered new and better cycle lanes, yellow BeeBikes for all to rent and use at your convenience, streets redesigned to be safer for pedestrians and cyclists, and progress on bus franchising.

To help you get around, meet our climate goals, and clean our air—we plan to improve more crossings, for public realm to be made more welcoming, and for more cycle lanes to join up into a useful network for all local people.
